HOW STUDENTS ARE SUPPORTED
Students receive support based on their individual strengths and needs, ensuring they can fully participate in a rigorous and inclusive learning environment.
- Individualized Support: Services are tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning goals.
- Inclusive Setting: Supports are provided in the least restrictive environment whenever possible.
- Access to Grade-Level Learning: Students engage in grade-level content with appropriate supports and accommodations.
- IEP-Aligned Instruction: Instruction and services are guided by each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES
Students receive support based on their individual needs, allowing them to access grade-level learning while building the skills they need to succeed.
- Integrated Co-Teach (ICT): Students learn in a general education classroom with support from both a general education teacher and a special education teacher.
- Resource Room: Students receive targeted, small-group instruction to strengthen specific skills while continuing in their core classes.
- Consultant Teacher: A special education teacher works with classroom teachers to provide supports, accommodations, and strategies within the classroom.
WHAT SUPPORT MAY INCLUDE
Students receive a range of supports designed to meet their individual needs and help them succeed in the classroom.
- Small-group instruction: Additional support in a smaller setting to focus on specific skills
- Individualized learning strategies: Instruction tailored to how each student learns best
- Accommodations and modifications: Adjustments to instruction, materials, or assessments to support access to learning
- Progress monitoring and goal tracking: Ongoing review of student growth and progress toward IEP goals
- Support for organization and executive functioning: Strategies to help with planning, focus, and completing tasks
TEAM & FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
Supporting students with disabilities is a shared responsibility. Our staff, families, and the home district Committee on Special Education (CSE) work together to ensure each student receives the services and supports outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Teachers: Provide instruction and classroom supports aligned to each student’s needs.
- Special Education Teachers: Deliver specialized instruction and monitor progress toward IEP goals.
- Cohort Team: A grade-level team that meets regularly to review student progress, coordinate supports, and ensure consistency across classes.
- Home District CSE: Partners with the school to develop, review, and update each student’s IEP and ensure services are appropriately provided.
- Family Communication: Families are engaged through ongoing communication, meetings, and collaboration in the IEP process.
